Thundershowers accompanied by strong winds continued to affect parts of Qatar during the National Day holiday, with some areas in Al Wakrah Municipality witnessing hail.
The Qatar Meteorology Department had earlier forecast that rainy conditions would persist until Friday. In updates posted on its social media platforms, the department said thunderstorms of varying intensity were currently affecting mainly southern regions, while scattered rainfall continued across different parts of the country, at times accompanied by thunder.
Hailstones were reported in Al Kharrara and Mesaieed, adding to the unstable weather conditions.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior’s Traffic Department urged motorists to exercise caution and adhere to road safety guidelines. Drivers were advised to reduce speed, avoid overtaking, maintain a safe following distance, refrain from using hazard lights while driving, apply brakes gradually, and avoid driving through waterlogged roads.
The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’said it is committed to serving the public in the fastest time and in the best possible manner.
“When reporting any observation, we kindly request that you provide us with the required data to ensure a swift response. Connect with us through the Ashghal 24/7 app, the call centre 188, or the e-services portal,” it said in a social media post.
